First Friday - Vikki Reed's Reconciliation Exhibit

January 3rd, 2020 6:00pm - 10:00pm

Phoenix-based painter Vikki Reed unveils her latest exhibit in the Lounge at the FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel. Her art will remain on display throughout the month.

Painting has been a lifelong passion for Reed, an Arizona native who was introduced to creating at an early age. Her art has evolved over a thirty-year career from rendering desert landscapes and botanicals in watercolor to creating contemporary acrylic pieces, with a powerful mandala series in between.

The show is titled “Reconciliation,” which is defined as “making one belief compatible with another,” as well as :making sure all sets of records are in agreement” in accounting. While at first glance, the three genres of Reed’s work seem very diverse, on closer examination, the color palette and energetic signature of the work reverberates throughout.

“I believe there is a healing element to color frequency, just as there is to musical frequency and tone," says Reed. “My work is designed to maximize the healing capacity of color, providing art that enhances any environment, providing an avenue to restoring balance, harmony and well-being.”

“Vikki’s works are so vibrant and colorful — her passion is evident in each piece,” says Michael Oleskow, the FOUND:RE’s Cultural Curator. “We are excited to showcase her works and see how our guests respond to this exciting collection. ”

Reed’s exhibit will be officially unveiled Friday, January 3 with an artist’s reception and meet and greet from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display throughout the month.
