Event Featuring Arizona Artist Keely Finucane Coincides with Phoenix’s First Friday Art Walk
In celebration of the return of Downtown Phoenix’s popular First Fridays, FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel is hosting an interactive performance on Friday, August 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. featuring a live painting demonstration by Keely Finucane and a DJ playing the hottest beats. This event is to coincide with the First Friday Art Walk.
During the event, Finucane will be working on the development of a painting from her latest art series “Honey Girl,” a hyper-realistic portrait using a technique called underpainting. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and chat with the artist as she paints throughout the evening and to view some of her finished pieces on display.
Finucane, who specializes in oil painting, is an advocate for the arts and co-founder of Finucane Design Group. An educator for 10 years in the valley, she currently teaches middle school students and adults. She was the appointed muralist for three Valley Partnership Community Projects and received the “Healing Through Art” Award for her mural design at St. Vincent de Paul in 2017. Finucane has exhibited internationally and has her work in private collections across the country, including those of celebrity collectors.
In addition to Finucane’s works, FOUND:RE Contemporary’s exhibition, "XSCAPE: Landscape, Cityscape, and Mindscape" and "Fire/Earth: A Metal and Fiber Landscape Show," representing more than 60 artists’ works, will also be on display throughout the ground floor of the hotel.
